I bought this item based on reviews. For me the bulbs burned out too quickly, but it could have been the bulbs I put in. My main issue is that the bulbs were difficult to put in. Sometimes a bulb would break in my hand while putting it in, or I would chip the ceramic casing, while putting it in, that covers the ends of the bulb after it is in place. You are not supposed to touch the bulbs with your bare hands, touching it will shorten the life of the bulb because of oils on the hands. The recepticle that holds the bulb is spring loaded, as time went on it became more difficult to get the bulbs in. Eventually the spring loaded mechanism became too loose to hold the bulb.
I replaced the unit with a light sensing floodlight; it comes on when it is dark and goes off at dawn. The bulbs can be changed with ease and I can touch them with bare hands. I can direct the two bulbs of the floodlight to provide light excatly where I need it. With the floodlight you don't have to take off, and possibly drop, a glass lens covering the bulb. It will probably be more expensive to operate compared the motion light because it will be on several hours each night.
If a person sees my house as a target from a distance, he sees it is well lit and will look someplace else. With a motion sensing type a person can get closer to my home before the light would come on. A determined intruder or vandal could easily avoid the motion sensing range and could wait until the light timed out and then proceed out of the motion sensors range.

I wanted a good security light for our front entryway due to recent criminal activity. Wow is this light bright. I'm certain anyone setting this light off in the middle of the night will be "frozen like a deer on a highway" when this light hits them in the face!
I didn't have an existing outlet, so I bought a white round electrical box which matched up perfectly with this product. Also bought outdoor Romex 14/2 electrical cable and attached one end to the electrical box/unit and the other end to a 3-prong plug. Finally, I screwed the unit/electrical box to an entryway wall and plugged it into an outside Ground-Fault wall outlet and it works perfectly!
Awesome unit and recommend it highly.

I was looking for something really bright, that will really shine under a patio covered outdoor area where it would be like a regular indoor room. And boy did it! I had 150W for that wasn't bright enough. Since my area is smaller I adjusted sensor to be minimum, and it works good for that purpose. Can't comment on sensing open areas for this model, but I have the 2-light version and that can keep the lights on many hours with few flies/bugs continue drawn to the lights.
I read the review on possible burning/fire if sensor/logic failed and kept the light on. So I took a closer look at the casing. The glass seems like real glass (heavy), not cheap clear plastic. The chasis/enclosure is heavy too. It's definitely not plastic. Seems like metal as that's how it feels when I knock on it with my knuckles. There is reflective sheeting around the bulb too. The thing that locks the glass to the enclosure is a metal sheet hinge, which shouldn't melt either. The arm between the light casing and the wall is also the same, metal-feel material. The only thing feel plastic is the motion sensor below, but it's like a good 4 inches so shouldn't be an issue.
This light fixture is bright enough where I'm going to order couple of more to shine onto my dark street in the cul-de-sac, where some neighbors were the victim of 3am car burglary. My only concern is whether a driving rain storm could cause water to enter the light enclosure. A normal rain shouldn't, but strong rain that has the right slant might get a few drops in. But given the glass is not sealed all the way around, including the bottom, any "drops" of water *IF* gets in should just come right out also.
